  • Thank you for replying. SVM is for AMD platform, on Intel it's called VTX, and I have enabled it on bios setting but still wouldn't work.

On my system I noticed the frame drops happens when the clock speed lowers due to thermal throttling. I have HWinfo64 running in the background. Sigh... A bit of a downer.

  • Windows 10. I have narrowed down the issue to thermal throttling. Setting the aggressive fan curve helps but not until after 10 minutes of gaming the frame drops happens again. I use an active laptop cooler and it kind helps with the thermal and frame drops. Well, I wish Acer would give us ability to set the fan curve to…
  • You're welcome, I actually also solve my own question (different thread) with the fn+F, to some degree. The CPU throttling is massive on my system as well, but again, it's an ultraportable so I'm okay with the fact. Just put the fan profile at max setting and use notebook cooler if you want to game for long session.…
  • I never have to install a driver previously though with Windows 10 (used to build desktop PCs for friends and families), but for laptops, perhaps they need more time as there's built in functions that might break with major updates. Edit: I installed the initial drivers, but after Windows 10 seems to take over and auto…
  • 1. Nope. 2. Nope. 3. Only selectable fan profile with Fn + F (lowest, medium, highest) 4. Don't know, if I remember it's advertised on GTX1000 series, don't know for 3000 series. 5. Nope. Acer Care Center is for checking driver updates.
  • Windows 11 is basically Windows 10 with fancier thread scheduling to support Intel Gen 12. I have to warn you not to upgrade if your SKU is using AMD processor. There's a bug on Windows 11 which reduces AMD powered computers and only been addressed on Windows Insider version. My desktop (Intel powered) is running Windows…
  • If you didn't do anything, then there's a corruption on the data block that caused the thread exception. Simple term for storage failure. Your best bet is nearest Acer service center. There is another way to check using USB bootable Linux to do a check, but I don't know the steps. Again, best course of action is to go to…
  • Model name SFX14-41G-R2TD, or model no N20C12. Market of purchase, Indonesia. Ryzen 5500U, RTX 3050 40 watt, RAM 16GB, storage 512GB. 15-20 minutes before I gave up from all the stuttering. The stutter/frame drops was just awful, maybe if it's stable I have no issue, but from getting 60 fps to 20-30 fps and jumping back…
