I put on my specs and peered into the mouse. (I had already put in the battery) and there it was!! Thank you. The lag between using the keyboard etc seems to have resolved itself. So now I have a PC that seems to be working well. Thanks all.

In addition to the slowness the package came without a dongle to use with the keyboard and mouse so pretty useless. I am really very disappointed in it
