  • Acer monitors generally carry a 3 year warranty, if you haven't contacted them for assistance I'd recommend doing so. If it's having a hardware issue and it's in warranty they'll service it for you. Depending on when you purchased the unit, you can contact Acer by chat or phone, (800) 816-2237 and see about getting support…

  • Curious, if there isn't anything saying what the monitor is how did you come to the solution of it being a S273HL monitor? Let's try and rule out the computer being the issue: * How do you have this computer connected, HDMI, DVI, VGA, Display Port? * Are you using an adapter of some sort to connect the monitor and…

  • It looks like this notebook purchased in the United Kingdom, is that where you are at right now? I ask because I'd have to help track down something sold over there via the Acer Store in the UK. You can contact them by email using this link, or the number for them looks like 0870 043 37 94. I'd recommend that if you are in…
  • I'm not sure how advanced of a user you are for parts maintenance, and if you are, did you check to make sure there was an appropriate amount of thermal paste for the CPU and GPU on your video card? Depending on the age of the unit that could be what's locking it up. Other than that it could be a hardware problem that may…
  • On the bezel (plastic around the screen) of the monitor there might be something that identifies the monitor as well. Mine is located in the upper right of the bezel and says V226WL. Do you have anyhting like that? Acer has quite a few 27" monitor listings out there on their drivers page, you'd really want to narrow it…

  • Glad it helped possibly, I'd definitely be careful with removal of pieces.
  • Because it's a Windows 7 Starter operating system, there is a limitation. • EO - Glad I could help out and it's working again for you. Vince53 - Glad this solution may help others as well. Here are some answers on the Acer support site I found for battery charging issues: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32100 https://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31782
  • Well, brand is really customer preference. It looks like this unit can support this amount of RAM: 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR3 SODIMM 204 Pin 1066/1333 1.5V
  • I see that you can upgrade to 2 GB DDR2 533, one stick only since it only has one slot.
  • I'll ask the question; did you update the BIOS, I show they have version 1.08 dated 05/30/2012.
  • I'm looking at the Windows 8.1 drivers for this unit on the Acer drivers site and it shows Atheros for the Wireless and Bluetooth. When you select your unit in the list, you have to change the drop down box to Windows 8.1.
  • I would suggest making sure that your Adobe Flash Player software is updated for your flash videos. What resolution are you running your display at, 1024 x 768 for the 15" or 1280 x 800 for the 15.4"? The Acer driver support site has this version listed for the VGA driver, 6.14.10.4020, you could check the Intel site and…
  • It could be that oyu received a specific SKU that didn't have the 802.11 a/b/g/n Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (WiDi ready) network card in it. I've looked through a list of part numbers on-line and there is one (LX.RPW02.028) that didn't have it, it shows that it has the 802.11bgn WiFi 2x2 wireless card. Is this the part…
  • Here is a picture of what I'm talking about with a picture that I found.
  • I remember hearing about that recall a while ago. You can try and get in touch with them by chat maybe, certainly not by phone that I can tell based on age. You'll need that SNID you provided for them to pull up the system in their database, it should tell them if there is still some sort of recall pending for it. It only…
  • If it is a new Acer unit, did you contact them by chat or phone (800) 816-2237 to see about exchanging the video card yourself? If you haven't called them yet to see what your choices are, give them a shot before giving up on them.
  • I'm not sure this unit comes with a discreet video card that I can see, it's probably only using onboard. Does it come with an internal power supply or external AC Adapter? The internal power supply I see that comes with this unit is only like a 150W power supply, that's not much power for video cards. You would probably…
