Tried that, same result, camera only shows up after a hard reboot, vanishes again trying to access it. It doesn't show up on a restart in device manager, only when I shut down and power on again.

Update. The HD webcam has now started showing up in device manager. Except it vanishes when I use it via the camera app or Skype. This is with antivirus disabled.
