  • I appear to have run into the same issue on Arch Linux (using a 4.16 kernel), but looking into the dmesg errors a bit, it turns out that blacklisting the `hid-rmi` module seems to get the touchpad working with no other ill effects as far as I can tell. It also for me fixed the keyboard not working after reattaching it.
