  • Boot up in safe mode and run disk defragment from there.
  • As no one responded, here's what I would do. In Cortana type "Device Manager", then click on "Human Interface Device", then double-click on your touchpad. Check to see if it's installed as far as the operating system is concerned. If you, check the driver to see a better one will work.

  • Have you changed the boot order, from drive C to USB (if supported), in the BIOS?
