  • WOOOO HOOOO! We have success!!! I tried again today. Used a Giotto Rocket-Air to clean the slot and discovered the module hadn’t been seating properly. I now have 8 GB RAM. Thank you so much brummyfan2 - I am so appreciative of your assistance. There is no way I could have done this without your help. Many many thanks.
  • thanks so much. i think second slot is faulty so I will just get a refund and not worry about upgrading my RAM after all.
  • Thanks so much. I will call the company and get the second one replaced. Should my second slot work without a RAM module in the initial slot?
  • Oops the one on the right is the working one- with the 8 black thingys!
  • These are the modules. The one on the left is the first one I bought that is working.
  • I bought the extra RAM and it arrived today. I have 2 things Im not sure about that I would appreciate help with. 1. The 2 RAM modules look different even though I bought them from the same shop on different days using the same item code. One has 8 of the black square things (not sure what they are called) the other has 4.…
  • I cant seem to find the one you suggested here in Australia (Amazon UK are not currently shipping it). Are there other brands you could recommend? Thanks again.
  • So if I need 2 the same can I just buy another one like I this new one and it should work or do they both have to be the CL9. thank you so much. I REALLY appreciate your help and patience.
  • I did the scanner thing on the crucial website which told me this one was 100% compatible. I didn't realise there were different ones as I just purchased what was recommended.https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct51264bf160bj/ct3304331
  • Thanks for explaining what to do.
  • I haven't tried the new RAM in the other slot. I am not very tech advanced so I have so far just followed some youtube videos. How do I find the current memory model number? Thanks so much for your help.
