place your hand on the back of the laptop near the vents and check is ample amount of air is blown out when nitro sense is at max .if not , then there is a high possibility that the vents are jammed . the nitro 5 model seems to have this big dis advantage f clogging air vents unfortunately.

had the same issue , unfortunately the problem is with your air vents at the back . go to you service center and you ll find a layer of dust clogging the vents . that causes increase in thermals and thermal throttling of the cpu . make sure to always use you laptop keeping it on a hard surface which is free from dust . :)

can you check your cpu temp using hwinfo while running the game?

Might be a problem with clogging fan vents . Had the same issue .

Try clearing your fan vents . Works like magic !

Engineer came today and opened up my laptop to find the air vents of the fans clogged completely. Cleaned it , applied new thermal paste and the issue was gone for good 😍

my device is acer nitro 5 (an515-52) part affected :- cpu ryzen 5 2500u with vega 8 gpu :- rx560x 4gb ddr5 windows 10 64 bit (version 1809)

here it is , the beauty of nitro 5 XD . when i bought the laptop this issue wasnt there . since the past two weeks , the cpu is driving me mad !

Checked . It reached 91 ℃ today earlier . 

Testing bench with cpu z , got one score of 1870 multi thread , while tge next one was 1342 . Why so much difference ? (Multi thread score)

Same issue on my laptop since last week

Go to c drive . Show hidden folder . There amd folder will pop up . Go to drivers of the adrenaline folder and there you ll get the ccc2.exe file

I fixed it and the problem i found was ***** wierd . I recollected all the apps and stuffs i installed in my device and came across msi afterburner . Seems like my amd wattman messed up with the afterburner settings . So i fresh installed all my gpu drivers , installed msi afterburner and extended amd overclock limits .…

Nothing worked on the drivers part . Two main issues currently are , 1) cpu at 1.98 ghz while playing games . 2) gpu stuck at 300 mhz while playing games (goes upto 1450 mhz for a very short duration).

Jack i found one restore point that was one day old , but when i tried it again yesterday it was not there . The restore point tab was empty .

When i had the old drivers , i got the amd wattman settings under the global tab . I installed a newer crimson relive driver and since then the wattman settings has dissapered .
