Acer monitor has magnetic base

Why is there an image of a paperclip on my Acer monitor stand?

Some Acer monitors have a magnet located inside the base to allow you to store paperclips or attach metal items to your base for safe keeping. The magnetic area on the base is indicated by a paperclip icon as shown in the image below.
