Aspire E5-574 has a black screen when playing video in Windows 10 Media Player

Why do I get a black screen when I try to play video files in Windows Media Player?

If you watch video in Windows Media Player then connect an external monitor via HDMI, you may get a black screen when you play another video. Acer has released a BIOS update to resolve this issue.

Visit the Drivers and Manuals section of the Acer support website.
Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model.
Select the BIOS tab, then click the Download link for BIOS version 1.13 (or later).
