How can I remove stains and/or smudges from my Acer Nitro display?
Like any other display, Acer Nitro displays attract dust and marks that reduce visibility. Regular cleaning of your display ensures clear, distraction-free viewing and helps extend your device’s lifespan. While dust wipes off easily, stains and smudges like greasy fingerprints need extra attention and proper tools.
Follow the steps below to remove stains and fingerprints from your Acer Nitro XVA270U_Z1, VG272U_W2 or VG272UW2 display.
Required tools
- A spray bottle filled with 75% alcohol or clean water
- Microfiber or lint-free cloths
Note: Avoid using abrasive materials like Brillo pads, as they can scratch or damage your display.
How to remove stains and fingerprints from an Acer Nitro display
- Ensure your display is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
- Then inspect the screen carefully with a bright light, like daylight or a flashlight, to determine if you are dealing with a scratch or a stain:
- Scratches often look dull or silvery and may have a visible groove. They do not disappear or change when you move the screen under different lighting. Scratches are permanent and cannot be cleaned off.
- Smudges or fingerprints usually look like streaks or greasy spots on the screen. If you are dealing with smudges or fingerprints, proceed with the following steps.
- Take a microfiber or lint-free cloth.
- Lightly spray your cloth with 75% alcohol or clean water—just enough to make it slightly damp.
Note: Never spray liquid directly onto the screen. - Then gently wipe the stained area with the damp cloth.
Note: Do not press too hard. - Now take a dry, clean cloth to gently wipe away any leftover moisture from your screen.
- Finally, check your screen to make sure there are no water marks left. If needed, let your display air dry completely before turning it back on.
