Why can’t my computer install Windows updates anymore?
When your notebook is unable to install Windows updates, it is very likely that the internal storage memory of your computer is full.
Free disk space required
Windows updates require free disk space to be executed on your computer. How much free disk space is needed exactly depends on the type of update that needs to be completed. Typically, feature updates require 6 to 11 gigabytes of free space, while quality updates require 2 to 3 gigabytes.
Cleaning up disk space
Before any Windows updates can be installed on your computer again, you will need to clean up the internal storage memory. You can do this by deleting, for instance, unused apps and large, unused or temporary files. For instructions on how to clean up disk space on your computer, refer to Windows 11 Cleanup Recommendations.
