How do I enable or disable Windows automatic updates?

To enable or disable Windows automatic updates, follow the steps below:

Click on Start and then click on Control Panel.
In the Control Panel double-click the Windows Update icon.
Select the Change Settings link on the left.
Under Important Updates, select the option you want to use.

NOTE: To disable automatic updates, select Never check for updates
