How to Set Up Windows Hello Facial Recognition in Windows 11 - Acer Community
<main> <article class="userContent"> <p>Facial recognition is a way of confirming your identity using your face. For many Apple or Android smartphone users, you may already be familiar with the “unlock phone with facial recognition” feature. But, did you know that you can also unlock your computer with facial recognition? </p><p>Windows Hello face authentication, in the Windows 11 operating system, is a built-in software that allows users to unlock their computers with facial recognition. </p><p>This article will teach you how to set up facial recognition on Windows 11 using a biometric camera. </p><p><strong>Note</strong>: Windows Hello face authentication feature requires an Intel RealSense or 3D Camera to support facial unlock. </p><h2 data-id="how-to-set-up-facial-recognition"><strong>How to set up facial recognition</strong> </h2><ol><li>Click the <strong>Start</strong> <strong>⊞</strong> button and select <strong>Settings ⚙</strong>. </li><li>On the left sidebar find and go into <strong>Accounts.</strong> </li><li>Find <strong>Sign-in options</strong> and click into it. </li><li>Under the <strong>“Ways to sign in”</strong> section, select the <strong>Facial recognition (Windows Hello)</strong> setting. </li><li>Click the <strong>Setup </strong>button. A <strong>“Windows Hello setup”</strong> prompt should appear. </li><li>Click <strong>Get Started</strong> at the bottom of the prompt. </li><li>Confirm your current password or PIN. </li><li>Look into the camera to create a facial recognition profile of your face. </li><li>Once your face is recorded, click the <strong>Close</strong> button to complete the setup. </li></ol><p>When you complete the steps, you can lock your device using <strong>Windows</strong> + <strong>L</strong> button and sign in again by looking at the camera. </p><p>If the sign-in is not working correctly, under the <strong>“Facial recognition (windows Hello)”</strong> setting, you can find an <strong>“Improve recognition”</strong> option to refine the recognition. </p><h2 data-id="how-to-disable-facial-recognition"><strong>How to disable facial recognition</strong> </h2><ol><li>Click the <strong>Start</strong> <strong>⊞</strong> button and select <strong>Settings ⚙</strong>. </li><li>Select <strong>Accounts </strong>from the menu on the left<strong>.</strong> </li><li>Click <strong>Sign-in options</strong>. </li><li>Under the <strong>“Ways to sign in”</strong> section, select <strong>Facial recognition (Windows Hello)</strong>. </li><li>Click the <strong>Remove </strong>button. </li><li>Confirm your account credentials. </li><li>Click the <strong>Ok</strong> button.</li></ol><p>After you disable facial recognition, you can continue signing in with a traditional password. </p> </article> </main>
