Windows 11: How to Set the Default Web Browser

How do I set the default browser?

Windows 11 uses Microsoft Edge as a default web browser. You can change your settings to use a different web browser like Firefox or Google Chrome using the steps below.

Click on Start ⊞ and select Settings⚙.
Select System from the left menu.
Click on Default apps.
Scroll down and select the web browser you would like to use from the list.
Click on the browser listed for each file type, choose the browser you want to use, and then click on OK.

Note: In the example below, we are changing the default browser that opens for .htm files from Microsoft Edge to Firefox.
