How to connect new PSU to a Orion 3000 PO3-620 Main Board?

Hi all,

I wan't to move my Orion PO3-620 i710700 to GTX3070 into a new case with an new PSU. At the first attempt I found that the power connectors on the MoBo are strange and that my new PSU (Corsair RM750X 750W v2) did not have the three required connectors. Anyone with ideas on how to fix this?

This will not comfort you in anyway, but sooner or later aftermarket adapters will come out. That is, if they are electrically doable.

The good thing is that your new PSU seems to be modular. Maybe all that is needed is few modified cables? If I was you, I'd ask a local repair shop whether it is doable. If it is, they could use the existing connectors from the old PSU.

If the electrician says "no can do/big fire boom boom boom" you are only a motherboard away from a new computer.

The Acer PSU and motherboard use the new ATX12VO standard. I don't know of any adaptors that would make it possible to connect your mobo to the PSU. Maybe in time there will, but not now.

Corsair makes an adaptor that is in the right direction, but I don't think it would work without heavy modding. Google "Corsair ATX12VO Adapter Cable" for more info. At least the connectors themselves might be usable.

My suggestion is to take Acer/mobo, new PSU and the new case to a certified electrical repair shop. They can make the needed alterations IF IT CAN BE DONE AT ALL. After inspecting the mobo and PSU schematics at least they can tell you if it's possible or not.

    Just an idea:
I take that the Acer PSU cabling is too short for the new case? What if you flip the PSU upside down? In the original case the PSU intake fan is facing down, but if you flip it so that the intake is up, you'll gain little bit more length. I did this for temp and dust reasons, but noticed that cables had more lack as a result.

EDIT: The repair shop should be able to make/alter cabling so that you can use power switch and USB with your new case.

Geez. Just googled. The 12VO thing is new to me. The PO3-620 has a 12VO MoBo but it is not using Intel standard power connectors. Therefore we are in a bit of a pickle when trying to fit it with a new PSU in a new case. Even if we find a 12VO PSU the cables would not have appropriate connectors for the PO3-620.

As you say @GotBanned heavy modding required. Or trying to fit the old psu with fingers crossed.
