Just got a brand new nitro 5 with Endless OS. After installing WIN10 the touchpad stopped working. I have tried updating the amd chipset, installing the elan and synaptics driver and nothing work. I am ready do quit and ask Amazon for a refund. Need help!!!! I found a lot of solutions online but most were for Intel chipset, and my laptop has a AMD one. Note model: AN515-43-R4C3 AMD Ryzen 7

If you installed both drivers and none of them work then it’s the touchpad itself that is faulty, don’t touch it and send it to either Amazon or Acer under warranty so that they can change the top cover that the touchpad is a part of. You can’t fix touchpad problems by replacing the touchpad circuitry (that is if you can get one?) touchpad circuitry and the module underneath are a glued on circuit that and if you attempt to change them, they will destroy the top cover. Leave everything alone and get either Amazon to replace your laptop or Acer to fix your problem.

Thanks for the answer man. The thing is, I did a dual boot format and kept the original endless OS, the touchpad works pretty well at the linux environment, so its not a hardware issue. It just seems like it does not enjoy win10 very much.

Horeia, then uninstall all touchpad drivers completely in the Win-10 environment. Go to  Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > and have a look at your touchpad drivers and uninstall all of them, both "Synaptics and the ELANTECH" touchpad drivers, reboot laptop (btw, you will need an external USB mouse as you won't have a pointing device)  and only install the appropriate touchpad driver that is working in your Linux as that should work. There could be a conflict between the Synaptics or the ELANTECH touchpad drivers, which is causing your problems, as the appropriate Acer touchpad drivers should work 100% within Win-10.

I tried that, did not work. I did a manual win10 upgrade, and after the upgrade to win10 v20H2 all drivers just updated themselfs. Things seems to be working now.

    Thanks for help StevenGen.
