Hey guys, I have an iconia w510 and bought a retail key of windows 8 pro. When i click the add features and enter the key it does not work or via slmgr etc. Get errors about non-core. I re-installed windows 8 x32 with my pc's iso and installed drivers but the key still wont upgrade, Guessing due to OEM.

Is there anyway i can get my retail key to work or have i wasted money on the key ;(

also, instead of starting another topic has anyone overclocked the cpu?

Depends on which key you have. There is an Windows 8 Pro Pack (light blue box - no disk) to go from 8 Home to 8 Pro and then there is a key for an upgrade from XP/Vist/7 to 8 Pro (Black Box,includes DVD).

Many others also depending on flavour but those are the two upgrades that were available in January.

Do you have any documentation with it ?

You're right: it's an OEM version (Release To Manufacturing and "N" is for european markets).

So, if it's a Dell version (for example), it doesn't work on Acer.
