Your i5-6400 has four cores and can do four threads, the i7-6700 has four cores and eight threads, so if you run multi-threaded apps the i7 will be a boost. I assume the SSD is in the M.2 slot? As Steven suggests, the GPU is really the next upgrade and very likely also needs a PSU upgrade. Memory is good at 16GB, moving to 32GB is only warranted if you are running something really memory intensive, such as video editing. So ... see what you can squeeze into the budget with the i7, a 2080 or so and a PSU.

Graphics cards to a 20 series or the higher end 10 series NVIDIA and a bigger PS that needs a special PS that fits your Predator G3-710 PC, there are lots of articles on this community on the Predator G3-710 PC upgrades, so look at tjust one suggestion here: Can i put a nvidia gtx 1080 into my acer predator G3-710 PC — Acer Community as this suggests a GTX1080Ti with a 500W PS but, there are others. Note: that the Predator G3-710 PC has a specific PS that you need to buy from Acer as its not an OEM ATX PS.

So I get a new PSU and then I should be able to get a high end 10 series or 20 series? will I have to do measurements to check if it can fit in my Tower or is it a guaranteed fit

Never guaranteed, but still likely. Just measure the current card and what space around it isn't being used to check to make sure it will fit. Different vendors build their cards differently, so they come in different sizes.
