After factory restarting and downloading windows 10 on my acer aspire switch 10 my PCI encryption/decryption driver has been malfunctioning. In the device manager i see a yellow triangle next to it and I can't upgrade it at least not with the device manager or windows alone. After looking it up in the hardware troubleshooter windows can't identify the problem. What do I do in this situation?

Do you have the full model number? This is usually the chipset driver

Weird, theres no drivers on the acer site for this model, could you confirm the CPU? is it a Z3735F.

if your not sure dont worry, download this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28539/Intel-Processor-Identification-Utility-Windows-Version and tell us the CPU and chipset :) I cant seem to find an offical chipset driver set!

Yes, it's a Z3735F. I did clean the disk so there are some drivers missing, including the touchscreen one. I haven't found anywhere to install all preinstalled drivers.

    It could be this one:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25311/SOC-Intel-Driver-Package-for-Baytrail-T-SOC-on-Intel-Compute-Stick

It looks like they never released a proper driver pack for this chipset im afraid :(

Ok, that's suboptimal... Purely hypothetically; if I were to find someone with an Aspire switch 10 with a functional set of drivers, could I then download that and integrate it into my system?

If you had the installers maybe, but theres no reall "good" way of transplanting the driver stack. You could copy the .sys and .inf but I would be real supprised if that worked

Drivermax says they can download drivers as a backup. What would differ that from copying a few drivers from one computer to another?

So drivers are a number of "things", config files like .infs, libaries / code which are .sys and .dll, registry keys, and other "fluff" like control pannel EXE's, services and random stuff. You can transplant the loaded .sys and .inf as they are easy to find, but if the installer does other "stuff" it may not be coppied. Same problem with driver copiers, they can copy the files but may miss other things :)

I'm gonna try it because so far I have found no place to download those drivers anywhere else. I'll get back to you if it works.

From the Acer support site you want the "Platform Drivers", you need to choose the Windows 10 32bit OS option, not 64bit.

Thank you, the two options presented to me were both 32-bit (difference being windows 8.1 or 10). So naturally I wet for the 64-bit one.
