Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53-52FA Recovery Issues

My brother has one of these laptops and I've tried to restore it with the recovery drive, but it only gets to like 30% and fails. I tried mounting the WIM files, but DISM comes back with an error "data present in reparse point is invalid" which tells me the images created are corrupted. Unfortunately, I cannot create a new set of WIM files, because the hard drive has been wiped. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone have a backup? I've installed Windows using the direct download from Microsoft, but my brother wants the bundled software (Cyberlink, etc.) and reports having audio issues when using headphones on Skype and Zoom calls. It doesn't happen on regular audio like music and video. The only option that I know of is to spit out the $50 for an overpriced recovery disc. Any ideas?
