Iconia W510 trackpad

Purchased Iconia W510 last month and suffering huge problems with the keyboard.  It has stopped working.  I have spent 2 hours on Acer on line chat this morning and all they could say is that I would have to return the keyboard to their Telford Workshop as it is a faulty keyboard.

I feel it is a driver problem and went onto the Acer site and downloaded the driver for the keyboard.  Keyboard started working but when computer went on standby stopped working again.  Tried again to install drivers for keyboard but this time does not work.

I object to calling Acer helpline at 10 pence per minute.

Has anyone else had this problem.

    It's a current problem.

Double letters is solved with Acer update, but trackball is an hardware issue.

Return to workshop is the best solution Smiley Sad

Acer have only asked me to send back the keyboard not the tablet.  I am hoping that they will replace the keyboard.  Do you think that will work without the tablet?

I am also getting problems with it dropping of the internet.  Can this problem be solved.  As this is a new machine I do not no whether to return to the supplier and ask for a refund.  Do you think Acer will be able to solve the problems?

That's right. You just have to send back the dock.

It's not an hardware problem! Tell us more about this issue: network, browser...

Does not automatically link to network (even though have checked automatic box).  Has happened to me in the UK on a BT Business Hub network and also in Spain on a Telefonica network.  D Link wireless router which I run a Sony Vaio with no problems.  Sometimes I get limited connection and have to keep re connecting until I get a full connection.  When trying to go onto Acer cloud always says no internet connection

Hi Philman.  In your opinion by sending the dock back will this solve the trackpad problem (it has just stopped working again as I was trying to download photos onto Acer cloud.  Is this just usually a one off fix or will the machine be going back and forwards to Acer Repair.  I work a lot of the time in Spain so this is really inconvenient.  The other option is to return to supplier and ask for a refund - which would be disappointing.  The W510 is perfect for business travel hand luggage. I would value your opinion.

1). About Wifi: try an update with the .113 version. It seems to be a wake off problem. Change values in the settings of this device.

2). About your dock. With Acer the delay is around 2 weeks, maybe more. I don't know how is your supplier, but it will be faster. Without assurance about exchange: the new one could have the same problem! For sure, use the Acer way and buy a BT keyboard in waiting if you really need it.
