So I want to upgrade the ram in my predator Orion 3000 P03-600. I’m looking for a 2x8gb kit so I can use dual channel, thats what I already have decided. The reason to why I’m here is because I don’t know what speed and what brand I should go for, I planned to buy a set of 2x8gb 3200 mhz G.skill trident Z but then I read in a thread here about compatibility and then I got unsure. So does anyone have any idea of what speed and brand I should go for?

Specs: Rtx 2060, Intel i5-9400f, 1x16gb 2666mhz, 512gb ssd

Just make sure you're getting 2666 JEDEC memory, not the newer XMP overclocked memory. You can buy 3200 and it'll work, but at the 2666 speed the motherboard supports. With XMP you'd need to buy quite a bit faster since it doesn't actually run at the rated speed. IIRC 3200 XMP is actually 2400 when used in a non-XMP motherboard, so slower than the 2666.

Ok, I’m pretty new to all this but, every ram I look into has XMP and what exactly is JEDEC because when I search for ”jedec ram” all that comes up is wikipedia about what jedec is. Could you like give me a example of a ram kit that would work?

Here is the first set that came up in an Amazon search. All memory up until recently is JEDEC...

So this kit would also work and run at 2666 mhz ? (Sorry if you think I’m dumb but I just want to understand so I don’t make a mistake)

Nope, if you go to the specs on that you see:
    SPD Speed  2133MHz
You want real 2666, not 2133 that can run at 2666 when overclocked.
