Ok i have been scouring the net trying to find a clear answer to this question and all i see is inclear options. Now recently i upgraded my predator GPU from a 1660ti to a RTX 2070 with a 650W psu went peachy somewhat ***** cable and everything. Now i want to switch out CPU from i5-9400F to the i7-9700k now im sure the stock acer air cooler will not keep the 9700k cool so heres the question.

is there a air cooler right now i can just mount inlole the stock one is..?

Acer Predator Orion 3000
po3-600 mobo
2 8gb stick hyperX ram
2 8gb stick stock acer ram

not a huge PC tech but i am learning with every new experience.... any suggestion would be a great help thanks in advance

You will definitely want to upgrade the cooling for that K chip. There have been several threads here lately that have done that, but it seems most are pulling the MB to remove the stock mounts in order for the replacement cooler to mount correctly.

You need a z390 motherboard to use that chip.

My understanding is that you can use the chip, you just don't have access to the overclocking features. Am I wrong?
