Hi,

I've got an Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-52-58PM), It was working fine and I've had no real problems but I'm fairly sure the battery ran out of power when I left the room briefly. I put the charger in and tried to turn it on however after a brief 1 second of noise coming from it booting up it goes silent but the blue light is on.

I've tried turning it off and on a few times but it still doesn't work.

I went to trying closing the lid and as I moved the screen down, it briefly flashed and I could see lock screen.

Any tips on how to sort this?

Thanks

Remove the charger , still if you see any light press and hold the power button until all the lights go off, than press the power button

Try to do the above step as suggested jack22 if its still not working then try for a power drain.

Shutdown the laptop with long press on the power button for 5sec.. Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop.
If there is no pin hole then press and hold the power button on the unit for 12secs.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've removed the charger and tried what you suggested however I still have the same issue. Brief noise of a boot up then goes silent. The blue light remains on.

It doesn't appear to have a pinhole so I turned it off after holding the power button for 12 seconds.

Initially it did the same thing as before however its no longer silent, I can hear the laptop running but the screen is still black.

Little bit of progress, I've connected my Hdmi to my TV and I'm able to see the display on my TV. Does this help narrow down the issue?

It looks like the internal display has gone bad. is it under the warranty.
