Second Life problem Acer TC-865 system lag issue

In another thread it was stated that requirements for second life are very low. That is not really correct, since although it has been around for a long time, the resolution and other demands have increased enormously. Lag is quite common.
My particular problem is that using an Acer TC-865 with an i5-8400 cpu, an Nvidia gtx 1060 video card and 16gb of memory, there is a place on my property in which the lag is so bad it causes SL to lock up and crash, after reducing my fps rate to almost zero.
Strangely, that location works fine with my Nitro 5 laptop, with a GTX 1050 ti. I use optimized defaults in the bios and have made sure there are no unusual apps loaded at bootup.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If I understand your problem it really relates to WiFi/Ethernet signal (be more specific?) and not FPS? As WiFi/Ethernet signal(s) are totally different and has nothing to do with graphics FPS. Look, there are lots of guides on how to solve/fix FPS Problems please be more specific with your WiFi/Ethernet signal problems as your FPS has nothing todo with it.

Thx for the reply but I don't think that wifi is the problem. As I mentioned, my Nitro 5 laptop doesn't have this problem, running off the same wifi.

I'd like to elaborate and explain what is driving me crazy here. I own two TC-865 computers, with 8th and 9th gen i5 cpus. Each has 16GB of memory and Nvidia GTX 1060 video cards. BOTH will lock up and crash after about 5 minutes of going to my ground level home in Second Life. The first symptom is that my avatar begins to get immobilized, followed by a huge drop in FPS which is displayed on the screen of my viewer. At that point if I don't leave the area immediately my system will lock up, and I will have to reboot.

None of that happens with my Nitro 5 laptop, with a lesser 8th gen i5 and a GTX 1050 ti.

I pulled my old Dell computer out of the closet and tried it. It has a 4th gen i5 and a GTX 1050 (no ti), and like the laptop it had none of  the problems the TC-865's had. I could spend hours there, running around, swimming and whatever, with no difficulties at all.

The TC-865 got a five star review from PC Magazine. What in the hell is going on here????

My only guess is it's in the game data itself... Does it have an option to clear that out, like you can do with a browser, so that it can be reloaded from the game servers?

Thx for replying, but I did a clean reinstall of the viewer and the problem remains.

Are you sure the uninstall wiped out any cached data? It might be trying to reuse the old stuff after the reinstall...

Well, there is a "clear inventory cache" option which I have run. It didn't help.

You would think that would have done it... Have you tried asking the game developers? I can't think of anything the TC-865 models do that different than most other PCs.

Yes, I had a support ticket with Linden Labs but they had no solution. I did find that I could be in that area with my TC-865's if I reduced my viewing distance to 32 meters, the minimum setting.
