    I'm also having the same issue with the same laptop, but this is my second time having this problem. My battery settings say: Power mode (plugged in): 63% Better battery, but doesn't say charging or give me a notification saying how long it will take for the battery to be fully charged. I had this problem back in October/November and called Acer explaining the issue and sent the laptop to them. They couldn't find any problems in their report and stated that everything was working correctly. I also received a new AC adapter from them and it worked fine up until now. I also tried my old AC adapter and it's having the same issue too. 

    I already tried some of the solutions mentioned above but none have worked so far.

    Yes, the same model AN517-51. I tried a different outlet this time and the issue was resolved and my laptop started charging again, but I'm not confident it will last though.

    It worked for a couple of days, but unfortunately the same issue showed up again. Now my laptop's battery is slowly dying again and none of the solutions I tried before are working this time. I might have to send it to Acer again.


      
     
    In the screenshots above, it would normally say charging and give me an estimated time on how long the battery would take to be fully charged, but it no longer says that. All my drivers are up to date and everything else runs smoothly, but the charging problem is the only issue that I'm having and it seems to be more frequent now.
     


  • Have you checked the battery wear with the hwinfo64 program and have you tried to calibrate the battery?

    Sorry for the late reply, but I sent the laptop to Acer again when you replied. I described the same issue to them again and they sent it back a week later saying that they replaced the motherboard in the repair report. They also said that the battery and all components are all working normally. I've tested it and everything is working fine, but since then I have stopped using it. I'm afraid that if I continue to use it, the same issues will appear again in a few months. Anyway, thank you for trying to help with this issue.
