Hi
I am completely useless with technology!.. I was having loads of pop ups for virus software etc. my friends husband told me they were likely to be viruses and that because I have windows 10 it has everything built in and I can do my scans on there. I did something to the laptop that has wiped the laptop of all software, I would say even more basic that when I first got it. My emails no longer work, I had to set the whole thing up again and now they wont load and I cant send anything. I no longer have the caplocks signal appear on the screen, so I have no idea if I writing in capitals or not.... Its 100% slower, not just with internet but doing anything on here... the list goes on. I have only had this laptop 6 months so Im gutted.
I tried doing the control panel, keyboard settings thing for the caps lock but it doesnt work.
Am I better off getting someone at Acer to sort this out? HEEEELP

It might help if you could reveal your full ACER model number. For example, E5-575??? A515-33??? Jack E/NJ

Try this. With the laptop shut off, remove the charger. Then press a paperclip into the reset pinhole on the laptop bottom for about 30 seconds. Then plug the charger back in but wait for the battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue. Then try to turn it on again. Jack E/NJ

Shouldn't affect the hard drive where the documents are stored. However, you should either copy those personal files onto a USB stick or remove the hard drive and copy them onto another computer using an inexpensive hard drive-to-usb adapter. Jack E/NJ
