Hello! I bought a spdif bracket, connected it to the appropriate output on the motherboard, but the digital audio device did not appear in the audio device manager. The output glows red, I think it is in working order. Can you help?

    It seems that everything worked!

    It doesn't work like everyone else through "Realtek Digital Output", but now in the settings of "Realtek HDMI Output" I can choose "Dolby Digital Live 5.1" or "DTS Interactive 5.1".

    Maybe someone will find it useful:
    1. Delete Realtek drivers
    2. Install "Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers" with 5.1 activation — this added 5.1 to the list, but I couldn't activate them. There was an error "Format not supported"
    3. Then I install "AAF Realtek Audio Device Tweak". Thank`s to Alan Finotty help https://github.com/AlanFinotty checked this items:
    DrvCtrl4;
    DrvCtrl6;
    DrvCtrl18;
    DrvCtrl20;
    DrvCtrl22 -> 24-GetVistaSPDIFDefaultDevice.
    4. Restart, and cheers! I can choose 5.1 and no more error message.
    5. Also I setup my MPC player for 5.1 channels.

    I've already tried to uninstall drivers. Downloaded from the official site Acer - Audio Driver for G5910 (Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6194). But still not have Digital Output.
    Also i checked BIOS: Onboard Audio - Enabled.
    Tested voltage on S/PDIF bracket. There is 5V and red light work.
    Can this board be incompatible or is this more of a driver problem?

    How do you have that card connected to the motherboard? Can you show the wiring of the cable and which connector in the MB it's attached to?

    I'm stumped, it looks like you can't really plug either side in backwards. If you have a VOM you could test conductivity in the wires to make sure you don't have a broken one...

    Cable is ok, already checked. And voltage is 5v on s/pdif board.

    I have some news, but it is still an unresolved issue. I found out that now through the s/pdif board the sound is played through the device "Realtek HDMI Output" But there are no settings 5.1 the sound is played as stereo.
    There is still no "Realtek Digital Output device".
    I think problem with drivers, but how to fix that. I`m try different versions, nothing changes.
  • Have you checked in the realtek hd audio manager that appears on the control panel?

    Yes. My Realtek hd audio manager looks like this. I have nowhere "Realtek Digital Output".
    Instead, the sound is output via HDMI Digital.
