Hi everyone!
So a 2 days ago my laptop was working just fine but when I tried opening it in the evening, it started to act up. At first, the screen froze and then I pressed the power button to restart it. When I pressed the power button again to turn it on, this time the blue light turned on but the screen remained black. I kept on pressing the power button and then eventually located the battery pinhole and pressed that as well. After a few tries, it worked, the laptop turned on and everything was fine. After I finished using it at night, I shut it down using the window's menu. Now, the next day when I tried opening it, the same issue persisted. This time nothing is working, even the battery reset pinhole. I am at wits end and I do not know what to do. The blue light turns on when I press the power button, so does the charging light, but the screen is not turning on for some reason. Please help!

    Hi rand_gurl
Remove the charging cable. turn off the unit fully. check if there is no light on the unit. put a pin inside the pin hole and hold it for 30sec. connect the charger. turn on the unit and keep tapping the f2. check if your unit goes to bios screen.

I had the same problem but got a message "No Bootable device". Ended up turning my a515-54G laptop over to Acer Services who reformatted my HDD (I don't have a SSD) and re-loaded all drivers and Windows10 20H1 free of charge (still under warranty). Tip if you have sensitive data stored on your drive(s), buy a cheap HDD USB external case ($15), remove the HDD from your laptop and mount it in the case to reformat it on a different computer, then put the HDD back in your laptop for Acer Services to fix.

Try a external display. if still its not booting and shows a black screen then its a hard ware issue. is the unit under warranty?
