Hello, i bought a Acer Spin 5 (513-54n) a few weeks ago. Now the backlight of my keyboard does not work anymore. All the others F keys and FN+F keys are working. Is this a software issue or is it he hardware. Does any of you have the same problem?
Windows is up to date. The BIOS version is 1.09.

  • Hi,
Have you tried pressing F8 key on it's own without pressing Fn key? If not, give it a try.

Yes, I tried. I wrote the acer support. They told me to reinstall Windows. I hope there is another way
  • Give this a try, go to Acer support site and download Quick Access Application(version 3.00.3012), then go to Programs in Control panel and uninstall the current installation, install the downloaded application and see whether it helps.

  • No problem, yes, sometimes reinstalling Acer Quick access resolves these minor problems.

    Hi,

installed Quick Access Service as described above. Version 3.00.3038 is now installed. F8 still does not activate backlight on keyboard. It was working. Windows 11 23H2 is installed. Any other ideas? thanks

When was the last time it was working fine ?

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

    Try windows x
click on power shell admin or command prompt admin or Terminal admin
    type rstrui
chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine
    click on next, finish, yes
It will restore your computer to an earlier date
if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close
It will show you all the icons..
Try and check whether it is working now ..
