I have the Acer - Chromebook Spin 713 model number CP713-2W-5874 and am trying lo buy an extra power adapter.  I have tried two different ones from different suppliers, but when plugged into my chromebook, it causes the computer to act erratically -- mouse jumps unexpectedly, mouse clicks appear randomly, etc. and so had to return them.  Each of these power adapters I tried were supposedly for the Acer Spin 713 CP713-2W-5874 and have the correct power ratings.  However, the part number on the power adapters do not match the original adapter that came with my chromebook.  Does anyone know where to buy an extra power adapter for this Acer model?

Acer has sourced the adapters from three different manufacturers. The Acer part numbers are: KP.04503.014, KP.0450H.012 and KP.04501.023. Try searching on those to find a genuine adapter.

I have a few chargers that work fine with my Spin 713 and none are Acer or Spin 13 chargers. I bought chargers that were "compatible" with Macbook Pro and other laptops but they have "Power Delivery" and sufficient wattage. The one I'm using right now I bought from Amazon and is made in China by a company named Rampow. It works fine. Disclaimer, I'm not geek or engineer but my Spin 713 works fine. I tried a 45W Ravpower charger and had no problems.

Okay, just for the heck of it, I ran my battery down 15% and then swapped for another charger. . 61W Rampow charger was set aside and I plugged in a 45W Ravpower charger. Charge it up fine. Spin 713 works fine. The ChromeOS battery calculator and charging report worked as it usually does.

As far as I can tell, if the charger has the right specs, it really doesn't matter. ACER chargers aren't special. Here are the specs:

    AC ADAPTER

    • Input
      AC 120/230 V (50/60 Hz)
    • Output
      45 Watt, 5 / 9 / 15 / 20 V

If the problem you're having is the charger, it doesn't happen with my chargers or my Spin713.

The key for most, if not all, Acer USB-C chargers is that they support 20V at enough current to meet the wattage requirements, typically 45W for most laptops and 65W for those with discrete GPUs.

If you go to the Acer store you can select accessories and Batteries & Power supplies ... Here the link you want.

My screen on my Chromebook Spin 713 when opened has an extra large font and does not let me go far enough for me to correct it normally.

@Catbird you should use the "Ask a Question" button to start a new thread, include the full model number (something like CP7xx-xxx-xxxx), a description of the problem and what you have tried so far.
