I have an Acer laptop made in 2019 that sees the 5G signal from the router, but will not connect to it, only the 2.4 network

That is impossible, if the 2.4G and 5G icons are listed in the “Internet Access” list from your internet provider (click bottom right of the taskbar and the internet icon) and a list will come up, as all you have to do is click on the ProviderName XXXX-5G click "Auto Connect" > "Connect" put your password in and it will connect and work, simple, if it doesn’t use the "Troubleshooter" and see what problems you have and what list comes up, as you haven’t said and/or described anything about a specific technical problem?

Yes, it is possible, because that is what's happening. I get "cannot connect to this network", and the troubleshooter does not fix the problem. My phone will connect to 5G though.

What is your laptop model and the WiFi/BT cards brand and model? Also, check your card and white/black arial wires are plugged in properly? Take it out and replug it into its socket and try that or reinstall the WiFi/BT drivers and try that, or press F3 or F3 and Fn keys after a reboot and login to Win-10, to see if that activates the WiFi.
