Hey, just noticed a vertical bar ( iscoloured) appearing at a specific spot on my laptops screen. I've never had this issue before.
I saw it for the first time after running nox(emulator) for a while, it has not gone away since it disappears for some time and appear again later. The laptop is pretty new( I got it in october) and I'm worried about this. Is this something wrong with the display or some softweare issue that can be fixed??

If it was mine, I'd probably feel safe worrying less about this.    :)   Jack E/NJ

Intermittent problems are hard to pinpoint. Could be software. Could be update, Could be wear and tear on the LCD cable from opening closing the lid too much. Do you see the same vertical bar when you hdmi out to a TV screen? Do you have a phone photo of what it looks like. Perhaps you can take a screenshot and see if it also appears in the image file which would suggest software. Jack E/NJ

The problem was solved by having the desktop run on the dedicated gpu. I dont know if its something with intel drivers or the chip overheating, using the dedicated chip solved it.

Still check the integrated GPU as @egydiocoelho suggested in the BIOS menu. Jack E/NJ

Ok, I just switched back to the igpu but the problem isn't there(so far). It also wasn't there when I checked for it in the bootloader menu.
I don't have a photo, but it was one vertical line dark color(changing) halfway between the center and the right bezel.
The problem persisted after the first restart which is what got me worried.
I read in a post that such display errors could be caused when running demanding tasks for a long time(it also said something about waking up the laptop after a long time).

I think the problem could be similar to the one mentioned in the article because I have not experienced it before and it isn't still there now.
