Acer SF13-42 Screen image retension

Hi all, i'm having quite a bad screen image retention issue on my laptop, if i leave a Microsoft word window open on one side of my screen for example and then switch to a window with a black background i can see quite a strong outline of what i had open before, I've already tried disabling transparency in windows and the retention doesn't show up in screenshots.
Have i received a dodgy unit?
Thanks!

Which model do you have again? It is likely something like SFxxx-xxx-xxxx and you just have a typo in the title... Knowing which model will let us look at the screen technology, some screen types take longer for the pixels to fade away than others.

OK, your SF314-42 has an IPS screen with 25ms typical response time, that means the pixels will take an average of 25ms to change from one state to another, though here will be some fade time added depending on the magnitude of the change. So, it's normal for you to get some traces of closed windows for a while when refreshing.

Look closely on the dark background, you can see the semi-faint outline of my word window
