I already have, the tech said it's probably the motherboard but not 100% sure. Just going to learn from fixing/destroying it myself now.
  • I really think it might be a keyboard problem. It would be interesting if you were able to test the notebook with another keyboard or ask the technician of some repair center to try to turn on the notebook, changing the keyboard. This video is in Portuguese, but shows how to install the keyboard:

I've just tried another long reset. Held power for 15 secs, then battery pin hole battery for 30 secs, leave for it for 15 mins before plugging in the charger. The only light from the LCDs is a constant orange one and it's been about an hour and I haven't pressed anything, does this mean it is charging?

I have also taken it apart, cleaned out the fan, swapped HDDs. Checked all plugs and screws are in tight, removed the battery (not the CMOS) and tried booting without it (nothing), pressed the reset button near the RAM, and tried making a spacer that I will try again if the light changes over 24 hours.

Should I try a new Mb or Kb first? Kb is much harder to replace because of all the plastic nails so if there is a way I can simulate the power button without using the Kb that would help. Would the keyboard plug into my Lenovo just to test it or are socket designs proprietary? Any other ways to diagnose the Kb and Mb before buying a circuit tester?

Thanks I just tried bending the Kb cable like in the first post and nothing still, I'm not sure I understand the second because it looks different to my cables and they look okay.

I suggest you take the notebook apart and check all connections:
Wow I would so like to see available a dis-assembly video like this for Acer Aspire E 15 E5-576G-5762. I am wanting to clean the fan from the inside.

Search for "E5-576G disassembly" in YouTube I found a few results, you can also watch other videos related to the specific part you want to clean. I'm very new to disassembly too but once you've ripped it open and fixed it a few times it's pretty simple. I'm really hating on Acer right now for the keyboard design, I'm hearing about cheap cables, and the clipped in with plastic nails.

Update on my A515-51G, I get the steady blue light now (and orange has gone) the battery has charged but pressing the power button does nothing. The black plastic under the mobo is clean, does it have to be there to stop the mobo from touching the metal or can I leave it off? I haven't taken it off yet, the screws on the heatsink are impossible tight and I would damage them so I'm gonna need a new CPU and Heatsink if I replace it.

Will get around to watching the video tonight or during the week but I have checked and reconnected just about everything under the keyboard.

@Binmo have searched and many results found but the target is to find a exact match for the 5762. The model number E5-576G is common and there are various models with the next specific 4 digits which may make each model series hardware unique though they look pretty much same on a macro level. Thanks for your helpful comment all the same.

Same thing I thought with me, I have the A515-51G-50LA and that video is for the A515-51-3509. I haven't ran into issues in the disassembly using various other model videos.
  • @roshanamin You don't need to find a video for your exact model:

Upon deeper investigation of the RAM cover that screws into the case, I noticed one of the tiny 5 or 6 plastic pegs that clip it in near the interrupt button was chipped off, so I experimented more with it the original suggestion. I came up with this, a piece of carboard secured from ontop of the ram but under its plastic cover to the other side and above the switch, on the cover I have the carboard spacer still. The laptop has to be on flat ground still or the pressure will drop and it will probably turn off seeming it sticks out a little.

    Any better hacks for this?
