I have an Acer IPIMB-AR motherboard in my Gateway DX4870 PC.  It has 6 SATA ports, one blue, 5 black.  I read somewhere that the board has 2 SATAIII, and 4 SATAII.  The blue is
numbered SATA0, the blacks SATA1-5.  Which two are the SATAIII?

    Spec says:
    Serial ATA controller
    • SATA * 6 (different color to identify SATAIII 6Gb/s and SATAII 3Gb/s).
    • 1 * SATAIII 6 Gb/s and 5 * SATAII 3Gb/s .
    • HDD : AHCI/Native IDE is required.
    • ODD: Support BD/SuperMulti/DVD ROM
So make sure your boot/system disk is on the blue port and everything else on the others.

Thanks billsey.  I suspected it was 5 and 1 because of the colors.
