I just bought my Nitro AN515-55 last month and ever since I first installed my games my laptop's been underperforming in terms of fps. Considering it runs on an i5-10300H cpu and an RTX 2060, I expected it to be performing well, however games like Valorant have very unstable fps always stuttering at around 60 - 80 fps wherein my friends with specs considerably lower compared to mine have stable 144 fps or higher. Should I consider doing a system reboot? And could anyone guide me on to how to properly optimize and make use of my laptop's full potential?

There are a lots of different AN515-55 models. What does yours have for a drive, how much memory? If you bring up Resource Monitor does it give any indication as to what else might be pulling it down? What antivirus are you running?

@billsey My exact model would be the AN515-55-50S0. It has a 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD with 1 stick of 8GB DDR4 2933MHZ. I'm not entirely sure on what to look at resource monitor. I have Kapersky Internet Security as my antivirus.

So it's not an issue with the HDD slowing you down because you are booting and running from the SSD. It's still possible the issue is related to drives though, that would show in Resource Monitor as 100% disk usage. Look also at the memory use, when it gets close to 100% of physical memory the system will start to swap out to disk and that slows things down by a bunch. Finally look at the CPU stats, if anything is consistently running high on a specific app then we can look into it. Kapersky will pull down system performance, so notice if it's showing up in either the disk or CPU usage.

The ram is being consumed by the game and limits the fps that your getting ive done about 7 xays research about this and ita being solved by converting your ram to dual channel. Just type in youtube single channel vs dual channel gaming
