Acer Predator 2020 PH315-53 static / continuous beep sound.

I just purchase this laptop last week. And I notice that Acer Predator 2020 PH315-53 have constant static noise/ continuous beep sound even just unbox it. And I have tried to reset the laptop and the problem still exist . I have tried to update op downgrade the realtek audio driver and same problem. Something strange is the noise disappear immediately when you running any game or geforce experience. So, that noise totally disappear when the dedicated gpu is running and start to make noise immediately after discrete gpu is idle. And I have tried to use different earphone also same problem exixt.

    Don’t touch and/or open this new Acer Predator 2020 PH315-53, its still under warranty and if you open it, the warranty will be void. Contact your local Acer Service to repair your problem. First phone your local Acer office and speak to the technical department about your problem, if you need to send the Acer Predator 2020 PH315-53 to them then, go to the local Acer website click on Contact Acer > Repair My Acer > SN/SNID etc and go through these steps. Make sure that you have registred this new Acer Predator 2020 PH315-53 on the Acer site at Register a Product also!

    Are you sure this is the hardware issue ? Because the noise seems go away once the dedicated gpu is activated. Morover, I have upgraded the ram and storage for this pc. Does it void the waranty ??

    @Sai_Sravan Did the noise happen only when the dedicated gpu is inactive ?

    Try uninstall ing nvidia hd audio and realtek audio console......mine worked

    This worked for me too, though I permanently disabled nvidia hd audio in device manager instead since windows kept reinstalling it on its own. No problems now.

    The sound didn't stop after disabling. Can you give a step by step tutorial? Lots of people could use it.

    Honestly, I didn't have any set procedure, only just trying different things that everyone else had (I'm not tech savvy). I kept my headphones plugged in the whole time to test. Simplifying things a bit:

    1. I uninstalled the realtek audio drivers in both the control panel and device manager (checked "delete driver software" as well) and restarted. High pitch sound still there.
    2. Then in device manager scan for hardware changes which reinstalled the realtek driver and restarted again if it asked. Pitch still there.
    3. I uninstalled the nvidia hd audio driver with "delete driver software" in device manager (left the nvidia virtual one alone to try next time if needed) and uninstalled realtek audio console through windows search then restarted. Pitch was still there and I saw that nvdia hd audio driver was back in device manager so I disabled it and restarted.
    4. No more pitch!

    And I'm not sure if uninstalling any drivers had to do with my dts x licenses disappearing but following this post brought them back

    Apparently the nvidia hd audio is required for hdmi connection. Can you test if everything works when connected to a tv?

    Disabling and restarting certainly works, but it destroys the battery life. I used throttlestop to measure power usage on idle before and after doing this. Before it consumes less than 1 or 2 watts. After, it never got lower than 6 watts.

    Yeah, you have to re-enable it for hdmi sound. But disabling it again and restarting didn't reproduce the noise again and I'm not using hdmi at all so I'm good.

    Disabling and restarting certainly works, but it destroys the battery life. I used throttlestop to measure power usage on idle before and after doing this. Before it consumes less than 1 or 2 watts. After, it never got lower than 6 watts.
    Can't say I understand any of this  :)

    The battery shows that it will last less than 2 hours after disabling the nvidia hd audio. It's a good solution for those who keep it plugged in most of the time but not if you need it to run on battery even for watching movies.

    Not really :( I wish officials from Acer would look into this issue.

    This might be known already but I just got a wireless gaming headset and it doesn't reproduce the noise even with the nvidia hd audio driver enabled. So whatever is causing the problem is exclusive to the headphone jack and the nvidia driver (at least for me).

    Did u find any fix now ? Im also facing the same problem...when i connect the headphone i get some weird noise

    Guys the Problem is Nvidia HD Audio driver remove it and restart problem solved!!!!

    It's a known "fix" but that reduces battery life as well as being needed for hdmi sound. And windows may automatically reinstall it.

    Anyway, hopefully I can provide some new info in the search for a cure, so to speak. Let me preface this that I really don't know much about computers so I can't give any great details as to what happened but so far the noise as been completely eliminated without having to resort to any of the tricks used so far (running gpu, disabling audio drivers, etc.).

    So at the end of last month I started experiencing frequent frame drops while gaming. This was a couple of weeks after installing a new ssd exclusively for games. According to Throttlestop the temps were still good and equivalent to what they were before (~40C idle, ~75C gaming) so last week I asked my friend if maybe the ssd was faulty somehow but he suggested that maybe the graphics drivers were bad. He convinced me to do a system restore rather than going through hassle of dealing with the drivers so I picked a point before their last update and went for it.

    Big mistake as the computer failed doing the restore (and subsequent attempts) and would only load up a black screen upon login. So I had to leave it with my brother to fix it over the weekend. He said it wouldn't let him do a factory reset through the recovery options for some reason so he had to back up all my files and manually do a clean windows install. I got it back on Monday and so far there's been no noise with headphones.

    Things to note:

    1) For several months now the 2 left usb ports have been failing. I mainly use it for the cooling pad and I have to pull out the connector slightly and position it a certain way for it to get fully powered. I don't know if it's the pins inside the ports or there's a loose connection to the motherboard (brother was too lazy to take it off and look). So a few days before the crash I had followed a guide to uninstall the usb root hubs in device manager and let windows fix. I had not used the headphone jack within that time so I cannot say if that had any effect but I had wondered some time ago if the noise was caused by some kind of interference from the jack being so close to that usb port.

    2) As far as I can tell, pretty much all the Acer programs are no longer installed. If they are, I can't find them or see them running. Perhaps one of them had a conflict with the Nvidia driver to produce the noise? Predator Sense appears to be around but isn't running properly and I don't feel like fixing it (this happened before but didn't change anything).

    3) As far as I know everything is up to date.

    Hopefully some of this helps. I know resets didn't help for many but something worked for me.
