I’m looking at upgrading my G3-710 to house a new RTX 3080 and a 850W power supply, however I have doubts that it may fit and also suspicions that the mother board can only go up to 500W, but cannot find enough information to make me 100% sure if it will work or not. Can someone give me a quick upgrade list needed to make a 3080 and 850W power supply work and if I need to buy a new full or mid tower? Cheers.

The motherboard only pulls what it needs from the power supply, and as long as the PSU can provide all the MB needs the MB is good with that. A bigger supply just doesn't need to work as hard as the stock supply. The big supply however will have extra wires to provide power to the GPU that doesn't go through the MB, and that's what you are buying with the larger PSU. The 850W PSU will be fine with the MB and with the GPU as long as it has the extra connectors the GPU needs. (IIRC the 3080 needs two connectors, not just the one some other cards use).
