Acer recovery backup instructions

I have an Acer Aspire V5-571pg-9814 with Windows 8 pre-installed.

I used the Acer recovery backup (putting the recovery partition on a USB), but haven't used Windows in a while. The instructions (in the event I need to use this) say "disable power management settings."  Does this simply mean to be sure the screen saver, dimming, and other such things are set to "never" - or is there an actual "disable" button/section I'm unaware of?

Thanks for any information.

The intent here is to ensure that your computer does not go into the sleep state while you are making the recovery disk/stick. Sleep and/or hibernation state will mess up the creation which is not instantaneous.  As I recall mine took several minutes.  Setting on never is quite adequate.  The 'disable' phrasing is probably a translation difficulty (original Cantonese to Mandarin to English translated as an ESL class assignment Smiley Frustrated)

    "PRECAUTION

    • These steps will remove all content from your USB flash drive.
    • You will need to disable power management settings before creating your backup drive..."

Sorry if I didn't make my question clear... I should have added the link above so others may look at what I'm asking about. Thanks for the response.

The same information was on a page for using the backup, but the page has since been updated, so maybe my question doesn't matter...?

Thanks to all who tried to assist.
