I have an Aspire 77-50-6423,  which stopped listing the camera in the imagining devices, after a hard drive replacement and new windows 7 installation.  I cannot find support to find drivers or software to use the Liteon integrated camera.  The laptop is at least 6 years old.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Download & install iobit's DriverBooster freeware to see if it'll pick up the appropriate missing driver on line. Jack E/NJ

I ran the update, still did not detect the integrated camera.  Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I even tried Acer recovery management with a default backup disc, but got stuck when the laptop could not read the second disc.  Looks like I will have to do without.

Go to this link and update the chipset and usb drivers for Win7 for the Aspire 7750. If still no joy, there are BIOS updates that address the webcam but I hesitate to recommend them at this point since your machine current BIOS obviously worked with the old ACER drivers. Jack E/NJ

Go to this link to test for the webcam hardware. The LCD-webcam cable may have a broken wire in the hinge area from wear and tear  of open and closing the lid too much. If however it work, download and try this camera app.  . Jack E/NJ

I did the test yesterday and again just now, my webcam is not detected. It appears something internally is physically broken.  Thanks for all of your suggestions.  I don't think it is worth my effort to take it in, and have it repaired, because of its age and OS which is no longer supported..

The LCD video camera  cable replacement for the 7750 is super cheap. Less than $10. And not to hard to open it up to replace yourself. As far as Win7 is concerned, that 7750 should work fine on Win10 or dual boot LinuxMint Cinnamon which can be easily configured to have just about the same look feel and function of Win7 only faster. Mint runs all the latest Office365 applications, browsers like firefox and with the WINE overlay runs many apps designed that run only under Win7. Believe or not, my workhorse everyday machine is a 10 year old ACER netbook that I'm posting this message to you right now.  Jack E/NJ
