I got an Acer a317-52 with a 1.8TB drive which I must partition. I entered the UEFI through recovery, added my password, disabled secure boot, disabled fast boot, HDD password is clear, rebooted several times to check the UEFI settings and all is as it should be. Also, there is no AHCI setting in the UEFI.

When booting with GParted Live it only sees is USB. Also tried Macrium rescue to look and it sees the 1.80TB. I don't mind wiping everything out and install a standard version of Windows 10 Home if I could.

Thanks for posting. The laptop belonged to a friend and is no longer in my possession. I accessed the drive by shrinking the C:\ drive to 128GB using Windows Disk manager, then installing Minitools to subdivide the monster drive. Afterwards, I forgot to check if the C:\ drive was still locked to externally booted partitioning tools like gParted.
