My Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-55) ran out of storage! It only has 238 GB?!?

Is there an extra space inside the computer to add a hard drive or do I need to fully replace the hard drive for a bigger one? The model is AN515-55. I really don't know much about the components inside the laptop. How would I go about this?

There are allot of guides for SSD's and HDD and RAM that are suggested for the Nitro AN515-55, you need to find out the appropriate and exact upgrades for your specific laptop model, as the same AN515-XX could be wrong and the only way is to either inspect it physically (to see if you have an M.2 slot?) and see or get the appropriate and exact guided for your exact model of the AN515-55 without opening it. Also and as a guide for the Nitro AN515-55 see this guide from a reputable manufacturer and what they recommend, look here: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/acer/nitro-an515-55 but, this might not be for your exact AN515-55 as your model should have other reference model numbers.

Also and if you don't want to open your laptop then, get a software like HWiNFO64 and look under "Bus" and "Drives" and find out the full and precise specs and the OEM hard drive model, manufacturer and type of drive that is installed. As an addition, with RAM use this guide “How to get full PC memory specs (speed, size, type, part number, form factor) on Windows 10” here: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-get-full-memory-specs-speed-size-type-part-number-form-factor-windows-10 which guides you to find out all aspects of your RAM installed in your Nitro AN515-55, simple, good luck.

  • Hi,
You have two M.2 SSD slots, you can either upgrade your current M.2 SSD to a 1TB M.2 SSD or you can install another M.2 SSD in the second slot.

According to the link: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/NH.Q7PEK.001, there only one SSD slot. It's better to replace SSD to larger SSD without losing data.

Now, find the compatible SSD like:
    • Kingston KC600 2.5-inch SSD
    • Kingston UV500 M.2 SATA SSD
    • Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA SSD
    • Samsung 860 EVO SSD
And now you need a m.2 SSD cloner to clone SSD to larger SSD with simple clicks.
