In my Nitro 5, acer care center software works only after install. After installing, it opens up but after restarting, when I try to open it, "Acer Care Center Service is still initializing please try again" message is given to me. I don't like the Microsoft Store version of this software as it doesn't have the battery charge limiting feature. Please can anybody help me in fixing this issue?

    Hi,

I had a similar problem but with an Aspire 5 and managed to get a partial solution.

    INSTALLATION

I uninstalled the Acer Care Center apps from my PC and then downloaded the Acer Care Center  zip file for my laptop from the Acer site https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/8370?b=1&pn=NX.HWCEK.001 (version 4.00.3019 in my case).  When I ran the setup it installed a large number of files on my PC but I was unable to open the app from any of them, or from the icon and the app was not shown on the Windows Start Menu.

I then downloaded 'Care Center S' from the Microsoft Store without uninstalling version 4.00.3019.  This was installed directly  from the Microsoft Store (rather than downloading a file) and provided version 4.00.3001.0.

The Acer Care Center could now be launched either from the icon in the System Tray or from the Windows Start Menu and seemed to combine both versions because the  information tab says:

    "version 4.00.3001.0

    version (service) 4.00.3019".

    USE

Like you I wanted to set the 'Battery Charge Limit' at 80% (the second tab in the battery section of Checkup).

In general the app is slow to open and close.  The Battery Charge Limit  option is not always visible and there seems to be no particular way to get it open; it's a matter of opening and closing Care Center until it works.  However, once it's set to 80% it seems to continue working whether it's shown in the app or not.

I should have mentioned that in my experience any external drives should be disconnected before running Acer Care Center because it will go back to the "Acer Care Center Service is still initializing please try again" state and you'll have to go through the whole process again.  They can be reconnected after Care Center is closed and the Battery Charge Limit will continue to work with them connected.
