ET322QU arrived from Costco this week.
Connected to an Acer Aspire Desktop (TC-780-ACKI5)
7th Gen Intel Core i5-7400, 12GB DDR4, 2TB HDD, Windows 10 Home

I'm not getting sound from the monitor. Monitor is connected with HDMI and I used the included audio cable (green) to run from the computer (where the old speaker cable (green) was) to the monitor jack.

I've updated Windows and drivers. There was a picture quality issues that seems to have resolved itself on it's own overnight (warmed up? see my other post).

Suggestions?

There maybe another monitor on the way from Costco. If it arrives before the sound issue is resolved, I'll try to sway the new one in and see if it works. I'd rather fix the sound and cancel the replacement.
** There was a tracking issue with Costco and UPS and when I called I was told they put in for a replacement order, with instructions to return a 2nd monitor if it shows, or get charged if I want to keep it.

Your monitor likely doesn't support mixed audio signal.

If you are using HDMI for video, then you have to use HDMI for audio --- so try to set your default audio from your graphics card.

The audio input is likely restricted for the VGA input.

With the HDMI hooked up and ready for sound testing, if you go to Open Sound Setting what is listed as the Output Device?

    Thanks.

The only output device is listed as Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

Manage sound devices only shows me "Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio"

I wonder if the HDMI cable is a cheap one that doesn't support sound through it? Or, more likely, the model of monitor you have doesn't have speakers, the audio jack would then be an audio out for connecting to a set of speakers.

Thanks (again).  All HDMI cables support audio, or at least that's what I've read.  I do also have an audio cable running from the computer to the monitor.  The monitor is supposed to have speakers, and has an audio jack.

    Thank you.  It works now.

I did some (A LOT) of googling and tried a lot of things along the way.  I deleted/uninstalled a lot of sound/speaker related drivers and devices in hopes of having the computer recognize the monitor as a sound device.  As you all probably know, it involves a lot of restarts.

With the expectation that it would still NOT work, I broke out my old speakers, and was ready to hook them back up.  FYI they are old, large, clunky and almost worthless.  But they worked.  The last remove and restart did the job.  Was kicking around the idea of a new pair of $10 or $20 speakers as an upgrade.  I'll remove those from the cart now :)

Thank you all for the suggestions.  Much appreciated.
