Hello I need help ASAP! I was playing Minecraft when suddenly my Acer Aspire R5-571TG-7229 just stopped working. The keyboard didn’t work nor did the power button. Even closing the lid didn’t do anything. The mouse worked fine. I was able to go into touchscreen mode and force quit Minecraft and then restart the computer but now it’s just stuck in a perpetual keyboard backlights are on, fan is on, blue power lights are on and the screen is black. I’m panicking please help

Okay, I found the battery pinhole and just held it for a few seconds and now it’s fine. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again.. I’m not at all sure what happened

Next time you can push and hold the power button for  while (up to 30 seconds sometimes) and it'll force a power down.

I tried that, held it for over 2 minutes. The keyboard and power button just didn’t work at all.

OK, if holding the power button didn't do anything that tends to make me believe it's hardware. The power button is handled differently from other keys in that it's got a hard wired connection to the reset circuit. That allows it to force a shutdown even when the CPU is locked up. Have you ever had your laptop opened? Maybe the keyboard cable has shifted in it's socket...

I did have it opened once by Best Buy (worst idea ever) to try and get a new SSD, laptop has never worked the same. They couldn’t even do it. That was about a year ago though, haven’t opened it since.

OK, if you feel comfortable with it, try opening it up and looking at each connection to the motherboard. They are often thin ribbon cables witha socket that has a plastic latch. If the latch isn't ... latched then the cable can shift around causing really weird things to happen.

Okay, I might give that a shot. I’m not super comfortable with doing that but if it does it again, I will definitely do it and get back to you about what I see. Thank you for your help.
