Hello,

I am unable to run Windows installation on my new Acer laptop. When I am trying to run installation from USB there is no disk to choose from. When I go to diskpart and I am trying to list my disks I see only my USB disk as Disk 0. I cannot see any more disks.
I was checking disk on my computer and it works ok. But I can see it has some WINDRIVER part about 5GB big.
The main problem here is I dont see this disk when I want to install system.

Maybe I am missing something that needs to be finished before I install windows for the 1st time?

And one more thing: From default I get EFI Shell screen:
Kind regards to everyone

    Hey.

I contacted Acer Support and they gave me some driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) to install before installing Windows.

They also told this was some Intel/MS issue and only this driver can resolve this issue. So if you have the same issue do not hasitate and contact support for driver.

I installed Windows and my disk is working fine after I got the driver and loaded it while installing windows.

It might help to reveal your full ACER model number. For example, A515-52? Or E5-511? Do you know if the HDD is MBR or GPT partitioned? Also, a phone photo of your BIOS Information screen might be helpful. Jack E/NJ

    Hello,

I refunded this laptop because store support told that there is an issue with this one. They will give me a new one. There was no disk displayed even in BIOS BOOT menu. You can close this topic.

    Hello,

I want to post another comment here. I got another laptop - the same but new. And there is the same situation.

After I 1st time run it I get EFI SHELL.
    1. I restart to get to BIOS.
    2. When I get to BIOS I change Boot menu to my pendrive with Windows 10.
    3. I restart system.
    4. I enter Windows 10 installation.
    5. And there is no disk to choose from. In diskpart I get 0 disk (only pendrive one)

What is the problem with Acer? Should I update something? BIOS or what?

    Please help  :'(
