Swift 3 having intermittent problem powering on

Hi,
My 2 years old Swift 3 is having intermittent difficulty powering on since 2 months ago. Someday it powers on with one power key press; other days it will take power key presses. I am not sure it's the debounce circuit, keyboard contact problem (doesn't seem so as all other keys are fine) or something to do with the power-on hardware or software.

I appreciate any advice and suggestion. Thanks!

Could it be an issue with waking from sleep? That would present with it working fine if the system had been shut down or hibernated, but failing when in sleep, either a light sleep or a deep sleep.

I have suspected that waking up from sleep could be one of the possible causes. But the system had been shut down properly. Another possibility could be the lid opening was not detected ?

If you go into Power & Sleep Settings, then Additional Power Settings, then Choose What Closing the Lid Does, what are each of the options set to?

Hibernate. But I had used the other options; it doesn't seem to impact the problem.

OK, in hibernate mode when you open the laptop it should stay off until you press the power button, then it should power up and take a bit before giving you back the session you left when you closed it down. It also take a few seconds to go down in hibernate mode, because it's writing stuff to the disk. If you try to open it too soon after closing weird things can happen...
