Swift 3 315-52 Will Not Start UP

I have an 18 month old Swift3 315-52 that refuses to start. The keyboard is illuminated, but the screen remains black, and there is no sound from the fan, and no USB power. The manufacturer warranty elapsed 6 months ago.
I have tried the battery drain, reset, and power up with the power adapter plugged back in. No change, no momentary logo, or other signs of life or change in operation from the initial failed state.
When I wrote Acer, they told me that, from Canada, there would be a flat rate standard fee for out of warranty repair of this model is currently $584.99 CAD. Whoa! 
Perusing these forums, there would appear to be a considerable amount of start-up problems associated with this model, which is remarkable considering the usual reliability of Acer products.
An internal inspection revealed nothing obvious, but remarkably, it was dust free.
I'm really hoping a guru of sorts will offer some constructive advice to resurect my laptop, and keeping it from being relegated to the parts bin. 18 months of usable service seems unreasonable by any standard, for normal usage.
And Acer itself seems far too eager to have me shovel out a large sum, for an uncertain resolution.

    Try disconnecting and reconnecting the lithium battery and the rtc battery:
    Try draining the battery completely, using any device that consumes power:

    This will make the battery drain faster.

    The RTC and battery disconnect was not successful. The keyboard backlighting is still illuminated, as before, but the are no other signs of life. I plugged a blank USB drive in to check for activity (the USB has one of those activity LED's), and it did not light up, although on the draindown for the above suggestion, power was being supplied by the USB port). I'm really starting to expect a bios failure at this point.

    The circled item is the reset button, which I've become too familiar with. The item the arrow is pointing to is unclear.

    There is no other button on the main board that resembles the battery reset button.

    Try installing the driver version provided by acer.

    Uninstalling? I'm sorry but the computer actually needs to start-up to manage or change any settings or correct drivers.

    A 5 second reset, rest for 5 minutes, and pressing the power button did not effect any change. I've lost faith in this laptop coming back to life. 
    With that in mind, I was able to purchase a used laptop of the same model and configuration in the secondary market. When it arrives, and it has passed the rudimentary tests for stability, I'm going to go with it, and install the old memory, for a total of 16GB.
    I should be able to swap in my original 256GB Sata SSD, and be away to the races. At least I'll have a parts machine. Things like display panels, keyboards, and fans can be pricey in the aftermarket as well, and a perfect match is required.
